Express H.O.M.E. Program Beginnings

The Express HOME Program, Inc., a 501c(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization was founded by JacquelineJackieBosby in 1989 with a mission “To educate as many as we can with as many resources as we can through networking and collaboration.” The Program originated from two concepts: 1) The idea of helping people on a large scale originally through assisting Jr. Enlisted Military members with a program Jackie created in Misawa, Japan & 2) through helping the homeless for several years in Maywood, Illinois.  Since then, the Program has evolved into focusing on the educational needs of teens and young adults by developing ways to prepare them for the real world.

All funds generated usually come through contributions from several avenues, from her own family’s fundraising efforts to financial donations from community and corporate entities, are funneled back into each service project she creates for this purpose.

Express H.O.M.E. Program Evolution

When the organization began, the acronym H.O.M.E. stood for Helping Obtain & Maintaining Employment as her mission initially was to help the homeless and ensure that people looking for jobs could find and end their plight of homelessness.  However, it took years before Jackie realized homelessness was bigger than just finding jobs.  It also involved teaching them also how to sustain after finding employment.  This sparked the evolution of what H.O.M.E. stands for today, Helping Others Magnify Education. Through her program, she extends assistance to any organization that needs a feasibility study, development and research for proposed community programs to ensure its probability for success.  She believes in helping others by giving them the tools and the knowledge to help themselves.  One of the more popular programs within the organization is the one that she and her husband developed, a media education program that teaches the art of video and television production.  They sponsor several mini camps throughout the year as well as a after-school leadership program and summer camp.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Joynt Production Network

Joynt Production Network, known as “JPN”, is another program that Jackie developed in 1989.  As a way to help raise funds for Express H.O.M.E. Program, JPN was created to bring businesses and entertainers together fulfilling the need for an entertainment booking agency for the business community.  Jackie used her skillful negotiation and interpersonal skills to seek out music groups and businesses that were looking for entertainment and arranged to coordinate the entertainment for their events, such as parties, anniversaries, picnics, etc.  This is how she teamed up with M.A.B. SILK Productions, a company run by her (then future) husband, Mike.

From 1990-1994, Mike and Jackie Bosby have auditioned and showcased thousands of local artists.  Auditions topped 500 in 1993.  One noteworthy accomplishment of JPN occurred in 1990 when Jackie was contracted by the Black Expo in Chicago to handle all of the local talent showcases.   The “dynamic duo” was also contracted to handle the local entertainment in 1994 in Atlanta for the Trammell Group, part of the FreakNic events, another significant accomplishment. Today, the network has grown to include both large and small businesses that support the programs community projects and is open to individuals to join through donation of funds and in-kind services and products.

For more information on JPN, please email SILK at silkbosby@gmail.com.
In 1989, Michael “Mike” Bosby launched his first anti-drug album as his contribution to the war on drugs and helping youth stay away from them. He wrote, produced and distributed this album through his own label, M.A.B. Silk Productions.   After having such a rewarding experiencing, he become a working partner of Joynt Production Network as part of the entertainment for various events.  He presents a special “Motown Sound” showcase and is continuously on the hunt for performers that can recreate older Motown acts such as Four Tops, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, etc. and use the showcase as a way to help raise funds for the programs developed by the Express H.O.M.E. Program. In 1994, Mike revamped the company by adding video and television production services and as a way of extending community service, he used his expertise in these areas to give exposure to the JPN Members.
